Ryan Giggs Had Affair

Ryan Giggs has found himself hitting headlines once again, this time for an alleged extra-marital affair with his brother’s wife.

A Sunday tabloid has claimed that the Manchester United star embarked on an eight-year relationship with his 28-year-old sister-in-law Natasha.

Following his alleged affair with Big Brother star Imogen Thomas, who was gagged with a super-injunction, now more claims of betrayal have stunned his fans.

The News Of The World today claimed that the multi-millionaire footballer even spent the night with estate agent Natasha last month on April 9.

The tabloid also alleged that Giggs was seeing Natasha behind his wife Stacey’s back while she was pregnant.

The 37-year-old former BBC Sports Personality of the Year is said to have met his brother’s wife in a string of hotels, after first meeting Natasha when she was single in 2003.

A friend of Natasha told the newspaper: ‘I knew it was wrong. It’s the worst possible betrayal. I tried to end it but my relationship with Ryan was like an addiction. Anything he said, I did, I couldn’t say no.’

She continued that it was all on the footballer’s terms and he never told her he loved her.

‘Ryan was never romantic with me. It was all about sex’, the friend said.

Giggs is said to have met Natasha eight-years-ago in Manchester nightclub Sugar Lounge, when she was 20-years-old.

She had apparently recently split from the father of her first child and Giggs was engaged to his now wife Stacey.

Natasha’s friend revealed that he apparently bought her drinks and complimented her appearance before taking her number and allegedly asking her to meet him the following night.

The following night they went to the Living Room bar, where Natasha also met Ryan’s brother Rhodri.

The trio continued onto another club and then dined at a Chinese restaurant for a meal before all heading back to a friend’s house.

The source told the tabloid that this was where Natasha allegedly first slept with Ryan, but afterwards found out that the star had a pregnant girlfriend.

After confronting him about Stacey, Ryan allegedly asked Natasha if he could trust her and claims he didn’t mention his fiancée again.

But Giggs is claimed to have kept in touch with Natasha and regularly meet up with her to have sex.

But in May 2003, Natasha started dating his brother Rhodri and two months later Ryan apparently stopped contacting her.

They are said to have met up at a New Year party at his mother’s house though and Ryan apparently pretended to Stacey that he didn’t know Natasha.

After that they didn’t see each other for a year but Natasha’s friend claims Ryan contacted her once again to resume the alleged affair in the autumn of 2004.

Natasha’s friend said: ‘I then read that Stacey had kicked him out. And a friend told me that they thought Stacey had found a message on Ryan’s phone. I wondered if it was from me.’

Meanwhile, Rhodri proposed to Natasha in 2005 and Ryan was meant to be his best man.

Natasha fell pregnant to Rhodri later that year, but is claimed to have still slept with Ryan during a charity golf tournament in June 2006, according to the newspaper.

Natasha and Rhodri’s son was born in August 2006, while Stacey gave birth to Ryan’s second child Zach two months later.

In June 2008, rumours of the fling had apparently been spreading around Manchester and Natasha is said to have been confronted by one of Ryan’s ex-girlfriends with the question whether it was true.

But as the alleged affair didn’t come out, Rhodri and Natasha finally wed in 2010, but with another pal Will Mellor stepping in as best man instead of Ryan.

The allegations come after Ryan Gigg’s alleged affair with former Miss Wales Imogen Thomas surfaced last month.

The pair are said to have had a six month fling, which Imogen is still prohibited from discussing due to a super-injunction gagging her.

Hurt and upset: Imogen had no idea about today's story
Hurt and upset: Imogen had no idea about today’s story

Imogen Thomas was ‘upset and shocked’ to learn of new allegations about Ryan Giggs and the footballer’s superinjunction looks set to become the worst own goal of his career, Max Clifford said.

Giggs was named in Parliament as the footballer alleged to have had an affair with the Big Brother model after frenzied speculation on the internet, despite a High Court injunction.

Today’s allegations that the Man U star had also carried out an eight year affair with his brother’s wife Natasha, are said to have truly upset Thomas.

Natasha only came forward after learning of his alleged relationship with Imogen Thomas, said Mr Clifford.

But Imogen Thomas had no plans to reveal their relationship in the first place, and had Giggs not taken out the injunction it would have remained secret, he said.

He said: ‘I spoke to Imogen this morning and I told her she needs to talk to her legal advisors, because a lot of things were put up in court about her which were very damaging.

‘That’s what she’s doing and she’s going to get back to me and let me know what she wants to do.

‘She was upset and shocked [by today's story] and she had absolutely no idea.

‘The irony of it of course is that what came to light it was as a result of taking out an injunction which named Imogen that led to Natasha realising what had been going on.

‘The superinjunction has not only been incredibly damaging for him, but it has led to what has come out in the News of the World today.

‘You wouldn’t say it’s the greatest goal he’s ever scored, would you? A huge own goal comes to mind, or even two own goals, because if he had kept quiet about Imogen Thomas it would never have come out.

‘Instead it led to his sister in law becoming very angry and upset when she found out about it and that led to what came out today in the News of the World.

‘All the superinjunction has done is turn a bad situation into an absolute nightmare.’

Imogen wrote on her Twitter page this afternoon: ‘I just wanna curl up and die today’.

Rachel Hunter

Gossip of an affair between Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs with Imogen Thomas began to develop into the issue of other woman infidelities. This time the name of the woman who has been gossip romantically with Ryan Giggs is the New Zealand model Rachel Hunter.

Rachel Hunter has ever posed sexy for Playboy magazine in 2004 reported ever being chased by Giggs in 2001. At that time, Rachel Hunter had just separated from her husband Rod Stewart, who is a veteran musician from England. Interest Giggs in this told The Sun that call if he ‘really, really liked the Rachel Hunter’.

However, Rachel Hunter denied this rumor. According to her no matter what happens between Hunter and Giggs who is married and has two children.

“I never slept with Ryan Giggs. Rumors started in Monaco since a year ago. I really ever met him, but it was only that,” Hunter said as quoted by NZHerald, Friday, May 27, 2011.

Accusation Giggs cheating is developed from the mouth of a member of the British Parelemen John hemming. According to the hemming, he only voiced a rumor than 75 thousand people who have spread the micro-blogging network Twitter.

This issue makes Ryan Giggs targeted the British media, especially ahead of the Champions League final against Barcelona, Saturday, May 28, 2011. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson even had to ban a reporter who asked the status of Giggs in his squad.

Imogen Thomas,

Upset: Imogen Thomas, seen here in London on Saturday, took to Twitter to vent her frustrations over new affair claims surrounding Ryan Giggs

Imogen Thomas took to her Twitter page yesterday to tell fans she wanted to 'curl up and die' as it was reported that former lover Ryan Giggs had also been sleeping with his brother's wife during their affair.

The former Big Brother housemate's relationship with Giggs was only made public earlier this month as the footballer took out a super-injunction to keep the affair private.

But, after finding out Giggs had also been cheating on wife Stacey with his brother Rhodri's wife Natasha, Imogen took to Twitter to vent her anger.

Emotional: Imogen tweeted she just wanted to 'curl up and die'

She wrote: 'I just wanna curl up and die today.'

And Imogen wasn't the only one who was angry over reports she had been cheated on, as Natasha is said to have felt the same way.

Natasha is quoted by the News of the World as telling a 'friend': 'When I found out he was cheating with Imogen too, I was really hurt.

‘I know that sounds really strange, but he wasn’t just cheating on Stacey, he was cheating on me too. Our relationship was just about sex to him.’

Distress: It has been claimed Giggs was sleeping with both Imogen and his brother's wife Natasha (right) at the same time

Max Clifford, who is representing both Natasha and Imogen Thomas, said the whole sordid saga would have remained under wraps had Giggs not obtained the gagging order, because Miss Thomas had not wanted it made public.

He added that Miss Thomas was ‘hurt and very upset’.

‘It’s a double-edged sword for her – it is horrible to find out this has been going on, but she does feel vindicated because this shows the kind of man he really is.’

New claims: Giggs is reported to have cheated on wife Stacey for eight years with Natasha

Meanwhile, Imogen's father came forward over the weekend to brand Giggs a ‘gutless coward’ after failing to clear her name of blackmail allegations.

Charles Thomas, 58, has said that his 28-year-old daughter has never been a ‘planner or a plotter’.

Imogen was portrayed in court as a blackmailer, suggesting that she asked to be paid by Giggs to keep quiet about their alleged affair.

And her father told The Sun: ‘She is definitely, 100 per cent, not a blackmailer.

‘It is wicked of him not to clear her name over the blackmail allegation made in court. His failure to do that makes him a gutless coward in my opinion.’

The new affair claims surrounding Giggs marked a difficult end to the weekend for Imogen, who had made the most of her Saturday night watching Britain's Got Talent before appearing on the ITV2 spin-off show, Britain's Got More Talent.

After chatting to BGMT host Stephen Mulhern, Imogen tweeted: 'BGT was amaze last night. The talent was fabaduppa. LOVED all the judges and all the other guests on the show too.'

Before arriving in a fringed cream mini dress, Imogen was spotted leaving the Stuart Phillips hair salon in Covent Garden after getting a blowdry.

Giggs is now said to have gone on a foreign holiday with wife Stacey and their two children in a bid to repair the damage done to his marriage.

Naomi is wonderful

If this is true, Naomi’s ass is about to come up for sure:

It looks like Vladimir Doronin might finally make an honest woman of Naomi Campbell. We caught up with the hot Russian billionaire in the bar at her Fashion For Relief fundraiser at London’s Natural History Museum. And Vlad, who claimed his clear-looking drink was neat vodka, said he might well pop the question before too long. He gushed: “Naomi is wonderful. Will I put a ring on her finger? Maybe very soon.”

He must be quite the character to be able to put up Naomi’s crazy-ass antics. That and the fact that dude is beyond paid makes Naomi a pretty lucky lady.

Adriana Francesca Lima

Adriana Lima picture, image, poster
Adriana Francesca Lima (born June 12, 1981) is a Brazilian model best known as a Victoria's Secret Angel since 2000 and a spokesmodel for Maybelline cosmetics from 2003 to 2009. At age 15, Lima finished first place in Ford's "Supermodel of Brazil" competition and took second place the following year in the Ford "Supermodel of the World" competition before signing with Elite Model Management in New York City.

Career

Lima never thought about being a model, although she had won many beauty pageants in elementary school. However, she had a friend at school who wanted to enter a modeling contest and didn't want to enter alone, so Lima entered with her. Both sent in pictures, and the contest sponsor soon asked Lima to come out for the competition. Soon after, at the age of 15, she entered and finished in first place in Ford's "Supermodel of Brazil" model search. She subsequently entered the 1996 Ford "Supermodel of the World" contest and finished in second place. Three years later, Lima moved to New York City and signed with Elite Model Management. After acquiring representation, Lima's modeling portfolio quickly began to expand, and she appeared in numerous international editions of Vogue and Marie Claire. As a runway model, she has walked the catwalks for designers such as Vera Wang, Christian Lacroix, Emanuel Ungaro, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Ralph Lauren and Valentino, among others. Lima became a GUESS? girl in 2000, appearing in that year's fall ad campaign. She also appeared in the book A Second Decade of Guess? Images.

Lima continued to build upon her portfolio, doing more print work for Maybelline, for whom she worked as a spokesmodel from 2003 until 2009, the same year she appeared in the company's first calendar, a limited edition run also featuring Kemp Muhl, Jessica White, Julia Stegner, and Anna Wang. Lima has also worked for notable fashion brands bebe, Mossimo, Armani, Bulgari, De Beers, FCUK, Intimissimi, Keds, Swatch, Versace, and BCBG. She also appeared on the covers and in the editorials of other fashion magazines such as Harper's Bazaar, ELLE, GQ, Arena, Cosmopolitan, and Esquire. She also appeared in the 2005 Pirelli Calendar and became the face of Italy's cell phone carrier, Telecom Italia Mobile, a move that earned her the nickname, "the Catherine Zeta-Jones of Italy."

Britney Spears

Britney Spears picture, image, poster
Later on being lauded as one of the greatest pop singers Hollywood has ever had, Britney Spears embarked on her music career early at her very young age. She performed in local dance revues and sang in her local Baptist church choir. Eager for more, she auditioned for the Disney Channel series "The New Mickey Mouse Club" but failed as she was considered too young to join in the series at that time. Nonetheless, one of the show's producers introduced her to a New York City agent who brought her to perform in a number of off-Broadway productions, including 1991's "Ruthless!". Trying for another audition still for a spot on the Disney Channel "The New Mickey Mouse Club" in Lakeland, Florida in 1992, the little girl finally made it and so became a musketeer along with future stars, like Christina Aguilera, JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake. Featured on the show from 1993 to 1994, she then headed back to her birth place Kentwood and attended high school for a year after the show ended.

Born on December 2, 1982 in Kentwood, Louisiana, Britney's birth name actually is Britney Jean Spears. Her parents are Lynne Irene, a former elementary school teacher, and James Parnell Spears, a building contractor. Her brother, Bryan Spears, works as a manager for the Spears family interests, whereas her sister Jamie Lynn Spears is an actress and singer. Having the freedom to explore her singing talent, Britney briefly joined the all-female pop group Innosense in 1997 before later that same year recorded a demo solo and was signed by Jive Records. Working on her raw music career under the major record label, she was first of all being asked to begin a U.S. concert tour sponsored by American teen magazines before eventually became an opening act for NSYNC and Backstreet Boys.

Kicking off her singing career with the release of a debut single titled "... Baby One More Time" in the end of 1998, Britney quickly became a pop phenomenon with the song's immediate break out success, selling nine million copies worldwide and peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Following the achievement, the song also ranked at No. 25 on Rolling Stone & MTV's 100 Greatest Pop Songs of all time. An album of the same title "...Baby One More Time" was released in January the following year, only to experience a massive success as well, debuting in the number one spot on the Billboard 200 and leading the set to be certified Diamond in the US alone. Not only was the LP sold over 25 million worldwide, but also it earned Britney an instant popularity in addition to numerous prestigious awards, including the 1999 Teen Choice Awards' Choice Single, four MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Song, Best Pop Act, Best Female Act, and Breakthrough Act, and four Billboard Awards for Female Artist of the Year, New Female Artist of the Year, Hot 100 Female Artist of the Year, and Album Artist of the Year.

Quickly following up debut LP with a second effort, titled "Oops!...I Did It Again", Britney saw it sold extremely well worldwide, debuting at number one in the U.S., selling 1,319,193 units only a week after it was released on May 16, 2000, and breaking the SoundScan record for the highest album sales in its debut week by any solo artist. Also gaining a Diamond certification from the RIAA just like her previous one, the second album in fact fared better with critics. With its lead single of the same title, it quickly became a top ten hit in the U.S. and other countries. Her first world tour for "Oops!... I Did It Again World Tour" was held in the same year, and Britney continued to add more awards into her collection, naming some were the 2000 AMA, Billboard, People's Choice, and Teen Choice Awards, not to mention two Grammy nominations in 2001 for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Already becoming a world's phenomenon, Britney brought forth her eponymous third album, "Britney", at ease on November 6, 2001. Failing to receive the success of her two previous albums, the set still debuted at number one in the U.S., selling 745,744 units during its first week and making Britney the only female artist in SoundScan history to have her first three albums debuting at #1. Then again being nominated for the 2003 Grammys; Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Overprotected" and Best Pop Vocal Album, Britney however lost both. Young at her age, Britney bravely exposed her sexual appeal, as if to mark her transition from teen tart to sexually powerful woman. She provoked controversies when she, during her third consecutive MTV Video Music Awards performance, used caged animals and danced erotically with a large albino python draped over her shoulders. The following year she again became the object of another controversy when at a performance at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, she locked lips with Madonna, only to start rumors that they were lesbians.

Previously announcing a six-month break from the industry, Britney brought in hand her fourth studio album "In the Zone," which was released in November 2003, with she herself co-writing eight of the album's thirteen songs. Also including a Madonna-featuring on song "Me Against the Music", the album rose straight to the top of the album charts in its debut week, making Britney the only female in music history to have her first four albums debuting at No. 1. Notwithstanding with critics' mild reception of it, "In the Zone" did successfully earn Britney her first ever Grammy in the category of Best Dance Recording, thanks to its hit single "Toxic". Another tour, dubbed "The Onyx Hotel Tour", was kicked off in March 2004 but had to be canceled after the second leg because Britney suffered a knee injury while she was filming a video for her single "Outrageous."

Instead of completing the remaining dates of her tour, Britney preferred to focus more on her personal life, announcing her engagement to dancer Kevin Federline, whom she tied the knot with on September 18 that same year in a private non-denominational ceremony at a residence in Studio City, California. That was Britney's second marriage after her first short one, 55-hours, with her childhood friend, Jason Alley Alexander in early January 2004. Keeping herself busy filming "Britney and Kevin: Chaotic," a reality show focused on their courtship, engagement and wedding, premiered on May 17, 2005 on UPN, the pop songstress gave birth to her first child with K-Fed, a baby boy named Sean Preston Federline, on September 14, 2005 by Cesarean section. Not long after that, rumors were swirling that she was pregnant with another child, an issue which she later on verified during a taping of television's "Late Show with David Letterman" in May 2006. Becoming the center of media and public attention was proven hard for Britney who was subsequently caught in a series of scandal, including that of her parenting skills that called into question judging from the way she treated baby Sean, her rocky marriage to K-Fed, and her new hair color. It was during this down low of her personal life that Britney then gave birth to her second son, Jayden James Federline, on September 12, 2006.

Britney kept working on her next LP in 2006 with such heavyweight music experts, including Timbaland, Scott Storch, Nat Hills, The Neptunes, and JR Rottem. However, it was sad to say that at this point of time she suffered from depression as a result of her failed marriage and entered rehab to get treated. Her singing career was left abandoned for sometime and people thought that she would never make a comeback. She proved it wrong as few months post her release from the rehab, she made a number of unpublicized small scale shows in House of Blues clubs. Under the moniker M+M's, her surprise appearance had graced the headlines. Despite the uncertainty, her fans snapped the tickets to the House of Blues gigs whereby Britney received various reviews. She made her first appearance on May 1, 2007 in San Diego's House of Blues and continued to travel in several other clubs to denote her comeback.

There was an original plan to release her album in the same year but apparently she was tangled in a disagreement with her label that it had to be delayed until 2008. However, it was reported few months later that she would set off a single titled "Get Back" first before the whole set hit the stores. A video for the song had been shot with the singer sporting black theme and sexy edge. In late August 2007 everything started to take shape around Britney's comeback album. The CD was put back to a 2007 release and expected to be in stores by November 13. A first single produced by Danja called "Gimme More" was confirmed and premiered on New York City based radio Z100 on August 30. Britney later performed it at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards to a disappointing stage act. Beside lip-syncing, Britney looked drowsy and quite unprepared for her performance that was actually deemed her "come back." Surprisingly, "Gimme More" picked up quickly on iTunes chart immediately after its digital download on September 27. It jumped from #97 up to #16 within hours and immediately soared to #2, all without promotion or video release.

The music saga continued with the anticipation on the "Gimme More" music video and album title revelation. By early October 2007, Britney revealed that the album was called "Blackout" and would be released on October 30 due to its huge demand. Ironically, the week when album sales were counted, Billboard set a new rule for exclusive album titles that were only available through one retailer to be eligible for the Hot 200 chart. Thus, Britney's "Blackout" failed to claim the first post after Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" accumulated 400,000 copies more.

After the many ups and downs in her marriage, the songbird decided to have had enough and on November 7 shockingly filed for divorce from K-Fed, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for both physical and legal custody of their two children with visitation rights for the daddy. Caught totally by surprise, it took less than 24 hours for Kevin to file a response to Britney's divorce petition, battling for physical and legal custody of their children. Amid media frenzy on her erratic behavior, including shaving her head bald and her hard partying ways, Britney had her divorce to K-Fed finalized by July 30, 2007 with details on the divorce settlement being kept under wrap. Her attorney publicly confirmed the end of their bitter divorce battle, claiming "everything is finalized,"although that's not the case.

The road to 'soul recovery' was rocky for Britney to get through. Juggling her not so all-out attempt to make a successful comeback to music scene with her personal life that drew heavy media coverage, Britney did face a tough life. She hit the lowest point of her life when being labeled by media as a "bad mother" to her young sons while, also kept attracting media attention with her doing a series of controversial and erratic behaviors which had a bad impact on her custody battle with K-Fed. As the legal battle over the custody of their children continued, Britney estranged herself from family members, one that became talk of the town was that of her parting ways with mother Lynne, presumably because she discovered Lynne had been criticizing her parenting skills to friends and associates, an issue about which the court then had many members of her entourage subpoenaed to testify. Official findings on that matter were announced by the court and Britney was ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol testings and to attend parenting counseling. By October 1, Britney lost physical custody of her children to Kevin who was appointed by the court to keep full custody of the boys.

Amidst her attempt to win back the custody of her sons and once again conquer the music business, it was ruled that Britney and K-Fed had joint custody of their two children on a conditional basis. It was short-lived though as the court once again ripped off her custody due to numerous issues which were all rooted from her personal disorder. On January 3, 2008 Britney fell off the wagon for many times, creating a "family custody dispute" drama on her Beverly Hills home after she refused to hand over sons Sean Preston and Jayden James to K-Fed's bodyguards as ordered by the court. Police, ambulance, and fire trucks were spotted around the gates of her home for almost four hours before the star at last taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, being placed on a "5150 hold," due to the fact that she posed a danger either to herself or others, for mental evaluation. Discharged from the hospital the next two days, she was again put on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold for the second time on January 31 and taken from her Beverly Hills home by ambulance to the UCLA. After stealing attention from the media due to her erratic behavior, Britney was once again put on the spotlight after she impressively bagged three nods at 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. Her Wayne Isham-directed video for single "Piece of Me" was named as Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Video of the Year. In the latest category, her video beat down Chris Brown's "Forever", Jonas Brothers' "Burnin' Up", The Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up", and The Ting Tings' "Shut Up and Let Me Go". After claiming triple victories at the annual awards, Britney was suddenly flooded with interesting offers from such big stars as Chris Brown and Ne-Yo. While Chris confirmed that he was in the middle of writing some new songs for her, Ne-Yo said that though willing to help her comeback album, he chose to wait for Britney's call. "I'm not calling them. They can call me this time ... Once she gets focused, I think she'll be alright," he stated.

However, none of them were signed on her sixth major studio album "Circus". Slated to hit the market on December 2 on her 27th birthday, the album instead lined up Lady GaGa and Max Martin among others in the song-writing table. Lead single off the LP, "Womanizer", debuted at number 111 on Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and then made the longest jump in the history by climbing to number 1 on its third week in stores due to heavy air rotation. In early October, public was once again surprised as she appeared nude on the music video for her first single. Though only shot from the side, people managed to see that her out-of-shape figure has been well-maintained, marking her successful work out. Eager to continue showing the world what she got with her sixth studio LP, Britney announced that the second single off the record will be the title track "Circus". A music video for the song has been filmed and scheduled to be premiered on December 5 on Entertainment Tonight.

Promotional project to support the upcoming LP has been worked out by Britney's camp. Gearing up for the roadshow, she held an audition to seek three new male backing dancers at Hollywood's International Dance Studio. But, before the tour is kicked off the next spring, Britney made a series of appearances in Europe. She flew to Germany for her first live performance at Bambi Awards on November 27 in Offenburg, singing "Womanizer". The next day, she continued to France for a special musical guest at France TV reality show "Star Academy", also playing "Womanizer" with circus-themed appearance.

During her tight schedule, Britney managed to tip toe on the small screen for MTV documentary "Britney Spears: For the Record" which airs November 30, 2008 at 10/9c. Dealing with her chaotic life, she opens up about her marriage to K-Fed. For the TV show, she is followed to the recording studio, to rehearsals, to press tours, and even to her hometown in Louisiana.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson picture, image, poster
Michael Jackson, born August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, to an African-American working-class family was an American singer songwriter. Referred to as the King of Pop, Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. His contribution to music, dance and fashion, along with a much-publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. The eighth child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene alongside his brothers as a member of The Jackson 5 in the mid-1960s, and began his solo career in 1971.

His father, Joseph Jackson, had been a guitarist but had put aside his musical aspirations to provide for his family as a crane operator. Believing his sons had talent, he molded them into a musical group in the early 1960s. At first, the Jackson Family performers consisted of Michael's older brothers Tito, Jermaine, and Jackie. Michael joined his siblings when he was five, and emerged as the group's lead vocalist. He showed remarkable range and depth for such a young performer, impressing audiences with his ability to convey complex emotions. Older brother Marlonalso became a member of the group, which evolved into the The Jackson 5.

Behind the scenes, Joseph Jackson pushed his sons to succeed. He was also reportedly known to become violent with them. Michael and his brothers spent endless hours rehearsing and polishing up their act. At first, the Jackson 5 played local gigs and built a strong following. They recorded one single on their own, "Big Boy" with the b-side "You've Changed," but it failed to generate much interest.

The Jackson 5 moved on to working an opening act for such R&B artists as Gladys Knight and the Pips, James Brown, and Sam and Dave. Many of these performers were signed to the legendary Motown record label, and it has been reported that Gladys Knight may have been the one to tell Motown founder Berry Gordy about the Jackson 5. Impressed by the group, Gordy signed them to his label in 1968.

Relocating to Los Angeles, Michael and his brothers started work on their music and dancing with their father as their manager. They lived with Gordy and also with Supremes singer Diana Ross when they first arrived there. In August 1969, the Jackson 5 was introduced to the music industry at a special event, and later served as the opening act for the Supremes. Their first album, Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5, hit the charts in December of that year. It's first single, "I Want You Back," hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1970.

More chart-topping singles quickly followed, such as "ABC," "The Love You Save," and "I'll Be There." At the age of 13, Jackson launched a solo career in addition to his work with the Jackson 5. He made the charts in 1971 with "Got to Be There" from the album of the same name. His 1972 album, Ben, featured the eponymous ballad about a rat. The song became Jackson's first solo No. 1 single.

For several years, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 maintained a busy tour and recording schedule, under the supervision of Berry Gordy and his Motown staff. Gordy wrote many of the songs recorded by the group and by Michael Jackson as a solo artist. The group became so popular that they even had their own self-titled cartoon show, which ran from 1971 to 1973.

Despite Jackson's individual achievements and the group's great success, there was trouble between the Jacksons and their record company. Tensions mounted between Gordy and Joseph Jackson over the management of his children's careers, and their level of participation in making their music. The Jacksons wanted more control over their recordings, which led to most of the Jacksons breaking ties with Motown in 1975. Jermaine Jackson remained with the label and continued to pursue a solo career, having previously released several albums—none of which had matched the success of his younger brother Michael.

Now calling themselves the Jacksons, the group signed a new recording deal with Epic Records. With 1978's Destiny, Michael Jackson and his brothers (which by now included younger brother Randy) emerged as talented songwriters, penning all of the record's tracks. Working with producer Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson wowed the music world with his next solo album, 1979's Off the Wall. It featured an infectious blend of pop and funk with such hit tracks as the Grammy Award-winning "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough," "Rock with You," and the title track. He also found success with the ballad "She's Out of My Life."

The overwhelmingly positive response to Michael's latest solo album also helped buoy the Jacksons' career as well. Triumph (1980) sold more than one million copies, and the brothers went on an extensive tour to support the recording. Jackson, however, began to branch out on his own more. Teaming up with rock legend Paul McCartney, Jackson sang on their 1982 duet, "The Girl Is Mine," which nearly reached the top of the pop charts.

The song also appeared on his next solo album, Thriller (1982), which generated seven top 10 hits. On a television special honoring Motown, Jackson performed "Billie Jean"—eventually a number one hit—and debuted his soon-to-be-famous dance move called the moonwalk. Jackson, a veteran performer by this time, created this step himself and choreographed the dance sequences for the video of his other No. 1 hit, "Beat It."

His most elaborate video, however, was for the album's title track. John Landis directed the horror-tinged video, which featured complex dance scenes, special effects, and a voice-over done by actor Vincent Price. The video for "Thriller" became immensely popular, boosting sales for the already successful album. It stayed on the charts for 80 weeks, holding the No. 1 spot for 37 weeks. In addition to its unparalleled commercial achievements, Thriller earned 12 Grammy Award nominations and won eight of those awards.

Jackson's Grammy victories showcased the diverse nature of his work. For his songwriting talents, he received the Grammy Award for Best Rhythm and Blues Song for "Billie Jean." Jackson also won Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male for "Thriller" and Best Rock Vocal Performance, Male for "Beat It." With co-producer Quincy Jones, he shared the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

At the top of his game creatively and commercially, Jackson signed a $5 million endorsement deal with Pepsi-Cola around this time. He, however, was badly injured while filming a commercial for the soda giant in 1984, suffering burns to his face and scalp. Jackson had surgery to repair his injuries, and is believed to have begun experimenting with plastic surgery around this time. His face, especially his nose, would become dramatically altered in the coming years.

That same year, Jackson embarked on his final tour with the Jacksons to the support the album Victory. The one major hit from the recording was Michael Jackson's duet with Mick Jagger, "State of Shock." In 1985, Jackson showed his altruistic side, co-writing and singing on "We Are the World," a charity single for USA for Africa. A veritable who's who of music stars participated in the project including Lionel Ritchie, Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, and Tina Turner.

Releasing his follow-up to Thriller in 1987, Jackson reached the top of the charts with Bad. It featured five No. 1 hits, including "Man in the Mirror," "The Way You Make Me Feel," and the title track, which was supported by a video directed by Martin Scorsese. Jackson spent more than a year on the road, playing concerts to promote the album. While successful, Bad was unable to duplicate the phenomenal sales of Thriller.

Raised as a Jehovah's Witness, Jackson was a shy and quiet person off-stage. He was never truly comfortable with the media attention he received and rarely gave interviews. By the late 1980s, Jackson had created his own fantasy retreat—a California ranch called Neverland. There he kept exotic pets, such as a chimpanzee named Bubbles, and had his own amusement rides. To some, it seemed that Jackson perhaps was exploring a second childhood. He sometimes opened up the ranch for children's events. Rumors swirled around him, including that he was lightening the color of his skin to appear more white and slept in a special chamber to increase his life span.

In 1991, Jackson released Dangerous, featuring the hit "Black or White." The video for this song included an appearance by child star Macaulay Culkin, and was directed by John Landis. In the video's final minutes, Jackson caused some controversy with his sexual gesturing and violent actions. Many were surprised to see the Peter Pan-like Jackson act in this manner.

Jackson's music continued to enjoy wide-spread popularity in the upcoming years. In 1993, he performed several important events, including the half-time show at Superbowl XXVII. Jackson gave a rare television interview, which aired that February. Sitting down with Oprah Winfrey, he explained that the change in his skin tone was the result of a disease known as vitiligo. Jackson also opened about the abuse he suffered from his father.

Allegations of child molestation against Jackson emerged later that year. A 13-year-old boy claimed that the music star had fondled him. Jackson was known to have sleepovers with boys at his Neverland Ranch, but this was the first public charge of wrongdoing. The police searched the ranch, but they found no evidence to support the claim. The following year, Jackson settled the case out of court with the boy's family. Other allegations emerged, but Jackson maintained his innocence.

In August 1994, Jackson announced that he had married Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock icon Elvis Presley. The couple gave a joint television interview with Diane Sawyer, but the union proved to be short-lived. They divorced in 1996. Some thought that the marriage was a publicity ploy to restore Jackson's image after the molestation allegations.

Later that same year, Jackson wed nurse Debbie Rowe. The couple had two children through artificial insemination. Son Prince Michael Jackson was born in 1997 and daughter Paris Michael Jackson was born in 1998. Rowe and Jackson divorced in 1999 with Jackson receiving full custody of their two children. He would go on to have a third child, Prince Michael Jackson II, with an unknown surrogate.

Jackson's musical career began to decline with the lukewarm reception to 1995's HIStory: Past, Present, and Future, Book I, which featured some of his earlier hits as well as new material. The record spawned two hits, "You Are Not Alone" and his duet with sister Janet Jackson, "Scream." "Scream" earned Michael and Janet a Grammy Award for Best Music Video, Short Form that year. Another track from the album, "They Don't Care About Us," however, brought Jackson intense criticism for using an anti-Semitic term.

By the release of 2001's Invincible, Jackson was better known as an eccentric whose quirks were reported in the tabloids than as a performer. The album sold well, but stories of his odd behavior started to overshadow his talent. He often appeared in public wearing a surgical mask, and he hid his children's faces under veils.

In 2002, Jackson made headlines when he seemed confused and disoriented on stage at an MTV awards show. Soon after, he received enormous criticism for dangling his son, Prince Michael II, over a balcony while greeting fans in Berlin, Germany. In a later interview, Jackson explained that "We were waiting for thousands of fans down below, and they were chanting they wanted to see my child, so I was kind enough to let them see. I was doing something out of innocence." But many were unforgiving of the star's behavior, with former fans and media outlets clamoring to have Child Protective Services take Jackson's children from him.

Jackson's reputation was served another blow in 2003 with the television documentary, Living with Michael Jackson. British journalist Martin Bashir spent several months with Jackson, and he got Jackson to discuss his relationships with children. He admitted that he continued to have children sleepover at his ranch, even after the 1993 allegations. Jackson said that sometimes he slept with the children in his bed. "Why can't you share your bed? That's the most loving thing to do, to share your bed with someone," Jackson told Beshir.

Jackson faced more legal woes in 2004 when he was arrested on charges related to incidents with a 13-year-old boy the previous year. Facing 10 counts in all, he was charged with lewd conduct with a minor, attempted lewd conduct, administering alcohol to facilitate molestation, and conspiracy to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion. The resulting 2005 trial was a media circus with fans, detractors, and camera crews surrounding the courthouse. More than 130 people testified, including Macaulay Culkin who appeared on Jackson's behalf. He said that he had been friends with Jackson as a young teen. While he had stayed over at the Neverland Ranch, he told the court that Jackson never tried to molest him. Jackson's accuser also appeared via videotape and described how Jackson had given him wine and molested him.

On June 14, 2005, Jackson was acquitted of all charges. His reputation, however, was effectively destroyed, and his finances were in shambles. Thanks to mounting legal bills, the singer no longer had a bank account and was unable to maintain even his most basic finances. Jackson soon found refuge in his friendship with the prince of Bahrain, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, who wired Jackson the money needed to pay Neverland's utility bills. He then invited the pop star to his country as a personal guest.

In Bahrain, the prince provided Jackson with more than $7 million, not including living expenses. He also built the singer a recording studio, hired him a "motivational guru" and helped Jackson to entertain family at Christmas. In return, Jackson promised to collaborate with the prince on a new album on Al-Khalifa's record label, as well as write an autobiography, and create a stage play. None of the work materialized, however, and Jackson soon faced litigation from his friend for reneging on his promises. In even greater financial straits, Jackson defaulted on the $23.5 million loan owed on his Neverland Ranch in 2008. Unable to part with certain items, including the crystal gloves he used in performances, Jackson sued to block the auction of some of his personal items from the home the following year.

Around this same time, the largely reclusive Jackson announced that he would be performing a series of concerts in London as his "final curtain call." There had been some speculation regarding whether the fragile singer would be able to handle the rigors of 50 concerts. Despite all of the allegations and stories of odd behavior, Jackson remained a figure of great interest, as demonstrated by the strong response to his concert plans; set to appear at the O2 Arena in London, England, beginning July 8, 2009, Jackson saw all the tickets to his This Is It tour sell out in only four hours.

But Jackson would never get to experience the success of his comeback tour. On June 25, 2009, Jackson suffered cardiac arrest in his Los Angeles home. He was rushed to the hospital after his heart stopped and CPR attempts failed, but he died later that morning. He was 50 years old at the time of his death.

News of Jackson's death resulted in an outpouring of public grief and sympathy. Memorials to Jackson were erected around the world, including one at the arena where he was set to perform and another at his childhood home in Gary, Indiana. On July 12, 2009, a televised memorial was held for fans of the King of Pop at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. While 17,500 free tickets were issued to fans via lottery, more than an estimated one billion viewers watched the memorial on television and the Internet.

The Jackson family held a private funeral on September 3, 2009, for the immediate family and 200 guests at Forest Lawn Memorial park in Los Angeles. The celebrity mourners included former child star Macaulay Culkin, ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley, and actress Elizabeth Taylor.

A film documenting Jackson's preparations for his final performance entitled This Is It, hit theaters in October of 2009. The film, featuring a compilation of interviews, rehearsals and backstage footage of Michael Jackson, made $23 million in its opening weekend and sky-rocketed to No. 1 at the box office. This Is It would go on to make more than $260.8 million worldwide, and become the highest grossing documentary of all time. With this final tribute, the family hoped to finally have closure on the passing of Michael Jackson.

But in February 2010, the coroner released an official report detailing the cause of Jackson's death. The results revealed that the singer died from "acute propofol intoxication." The overdose worked in combination with a lethal prescription drug cocktail—which included the pain killer Demerol, as well as lorazepam, midazolam, benzodiazepine, diazepine and ephedrine—to shut down the star's weakened heart. Jackson reportedly used the drugs, with the aid of personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, to help him sleep in the evenings. Conrad later told police that he believed Jackson had developed a particular addiction to propofol, which Jackson referred to as his "milk." He had the drug administered by I.V. in the evenings in 50 mg dosages, and Murray was attempting to ween the pop star off the drug at the time of Jackson's death.

A police investigation revealed that Murray was not licensed to prescribe most controlled drugs in the state of California. The steps he took to save Jackson also came under scrutiny, as evidence showed that the standard of care for administering propofol was not met, and the recommended equipment for patient monitoring, precision dosing and resuscitation were not present. As a result, Jackson's death was ruled a homicide, and Murray found himself at the center of an involuntary manslaughter investigation. The Jackson family also began pursuing measures that would have Murray's medical license revoked. The family is in continuing litigation with Murray.

Meanwhile, the Jackson family has attempted to move forward with their lives. As dictated in his will, Jackson's children were placed in the care of their grandmother, Katherine Jackson. In respect to their father's wishes, Paris, Prince Michael and Prince Michael II (also known as "Blanket") have been kept largely out of the limelight, appearing publicly only a few times in the last year. They stepped up to the mic in 2009 to speak to fans at their father's funeral, and again in January 2010 to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award for their father at the Grammys. In June 2010, it was announced that the children will be heading to private school in the fall.

Jennifer Connelly and her husband

Jennifer Connelly and her husband, Paul Bettany gave birth to their third child and it's a girl!

The Hollywood couple, which were married in 2003 has welcomed their third child, Agnes Lark Bettany, the actress' rep confirmed to Access Hollywood. Agnes was born at home in a birthing pool on May 31 in New York City.

"Everyone is healthy and doing well", the rep told Us Weekly, who was first to report the news. "The family is very excited."

The couple already have two sons Stellan, 7 and Kai, 13, whom Jennifer had from a previous relationship with photographer David Dugan. Last year, the actress told People that motherhood had changed her entire life.

"Becoming a mother has made all the difference in terms of learning to take more responsibility for myself and my life," she said at the time. "Parenthood changed the way I do everything. The biggest thing for me is wanting my kids to grow up safely and have happy lives. To me, that's enough."

Jen met her English husband, Paul, while filming 2001’s "A Beautiful Mind."

Nat "King" Cole

Nat Cole picture, image, poster
The American musician Nat "King" Cole was beloved by millions as a singer of popular songs, but his specialty was piano in the tradition of "cool" jazz.

A musical childhood

Nathaniel Adams Coles, the youngest son of the Reverend Edwards Coles and Perlina (Adams) Coles, was born on March 17, 1917, in Montgomery, Alabama. Cole's father moved the family to Chicago, Illinois, in 1921. His father served as pastor of the Truelight Spiritual Temple on the South Side of Chicago. By the time he reached the age of twelve, Cole was playing the organ and singing in the choir of his father's church under his mother's choir direction.

Cole took piano lessons in order to learn how to read music. Inspired by show business, Cole formed his own big band, the Rogues of Rhythm. His older brother Eddie, previously bassist with Noble Sissle's orchestra, joined him.

The genius of Cole, Moore, and Miller

In Hollywood for a series of gigs, Cole put together a trio that would become legendary. Cole's first bass player, later replaced by the legendary Johnny "Thrifty" Miller, was Wesley Prince, who introduced Cole to Oscar Moore, a movie studio guitarist. Although Irving Ashby eventually replaced Moore, the trio reached its peak with the combined genius of Cole, Moore, and Miller. The three musicians each possessed exceptional gifts of improvisation (to make up without practice), which blended original inventions with jazz standards.

Legend has it that during an after-hours vocalization with his trio, a young woman in the club crowned Cole the "King," an affectionate nickname, which stuck ever after. From this Cole would take his rightful place among the royalty of jazz, which included "Count" Basie (1904–1984) and "Duke" Ellington (1899–1974).

With the arrival of the spring of 1944 came a second Capital recording of "Straighten Up and Fly Right" and, on the flip side, "I Just Can't See for Lookin'." After this Cole strung together several hits: "Gee, Baby, Ain't I Good to You?" "Bring Another Drink," "If You Can't Smile and Say Yes," "Shy Guy," and then two real winners, "Frim Fram Sauce" and "Route 66."

End of the trio

As success mounted, the jazz lessened and Cole's popular vocalization increased. At the same time, the trio began to fade into the background, sometimes not appearing at all. With his recording of Mel Torme's "Christmas Song," a new career was launched for Cole. This left little room for Moore and Miller and the trio broke up.

Cole, now a solo artist, settled in Los Angeles, California. He divorced his first wife, Nadine, whom he had married in 1937. He married for a second and last time to singer Marie Ellington. Although not related, Marie sang with Duke Ellington's band. Cole and Marie had three daughters: Carol, Timlin, and Natalie.

Later years and legacy

After a string of hits, Cole's life came to a sad ending. The sound quality of his voice came not only from his broad Southern accent and velvety voice, but also from his cigarette smoking. On a WNEW New York interview shortly before his untimely death in 1965 from throat cancer, host William B. Williams asked Cole how he could smoke so much and still be a singer. Cole responded by saying he had learned two things: the choice of the right key for a song meant everything, and smoking helps a singer get a husky sound in his voice that the audience loves. "So," Cole said, "if you want to sing, keep on smoking."

When Cole died, a legendary jazz artist and a voice millions knew as the voice of a friend was lost to the world. Cole's smooth, relaxed delivery established a style out of which others grew, including the styles of Mel Torme, Johnny Ray, Johnny Mathis (1935–), Oscar Peterson (1925–), Frankie Laine, Tony Bennett (1926–), and early Ray Charles (1930–).

On March 6, 2000 Cole was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the Early Influences category. The category includes artists whose music predates rock and roll, but who inspired and had a major effect on rock and roll music.

Egon Schiele

Egon Schiele picture, image, poster

Egon Schiele was an Austrian Expressionist painter and draftsman, whose reputation increased greatly through the years.

Egon Schiele was born in 1890 in Lower Austria as the third child in his family. His father was a rail-road civil servant who died in 1905. His uncle became his guardian but did not support his artistic career. Nevertheless, Schiele entered the academy in Vienna where he quickly ran into difficulties with his teacher, the then famous Professor Griepenkerl.

In 1907 he met Gustav Klimt, whom he admired, who assisted him in obtaining his first commissions and who influenced his early drawing style. Following Klimt's suggestion, Schiele entered four paintings in the Vienna International Exhibition of 1909, where works by Oskar Kokoschka and Vincent Van Gogh were also shown. In the same year he left the academy and, with other young artists, formed the short-lived artist group "Neukunstgruppe"; however, the first exhibition was not successful. By 1910 he had found his own style with its strong emphasis on the contour line and vibrant colors.

In 1911 he moved to the small town of Krumau, where he painted a number of townscapes. His lifestyle caused problems in the town and he moved with his model Wally Neuziel to Neulengbach where in 1912 he was arrested and charged with immorality and seduction. Some of his drawings were confiscated; one was even burned by the judge in the courtroom. He spent 24 traumatic days in jail and returned to Vienna upon his release.

His first important exhibitions were held in Germany: in 1913 in the famous Galerie Goltz in Munich and in the Folkwangmuseum in Hagen, followed by one-man exhibits in Hamburg, Breslau, Stuttgart, and Berlin, where the Expressionist journal Die Aktion published his drawings as well as his poetry. In 1915 he married Edith Harms, and a few days later he was drafted into the army. After having been assigned to guard Russian prisoners of war, the Die Aktion journal published a special issue with his drawings and the Berlin Sezession exhibited his works.

In 1917 he was transferred to the Army Museum in Vienna, which provided him with some time to paint again. A portfolio of 12 drawing reproductions was published. He was invited to participate in exhibits in Munich, Dresden, Amsterdam, and Stockholm, but his poverty remained unchanged. The first truly great success came in 1918 with his exhibit at the Vienna Secession (no less than 19 paintings and several drawings). He received a number of commissions, and 25 of his works were exhibited in Zurich. Shortly thereafter, however, his wife—who was expecting a child-died of the Spanish influenza epidemic, and three days later the artist succumbed to the same disease.

Schiele was an extraordinary artist who—together with the young Kokoschka—must be considered the outstanding Austrian Expressionist. His dominating theme was the human body, which he depicts in truly singular forms. The many nudes, female as well as male, are devoid of any then-acceptable concept of beauty and are like psychograms emphasizing tensions and even tragedy. Likewise in his paintings of children he emphasized their awkward bodies and their earnest eyes, and yet, the impact of these works on the viewer is very strong because the depictions are forthright and direct. His eros knows more of unresolved tensions and painful dreamstates than of joy. Even his marvelous townscapes frequently lack perspective dimensions and let the windows of the houses appear like blind eyes; they are expressions of the artist's mood more than topographical depictions; they are images of fall—with isolated, dry trees standing in the cold wind.

Schiele's symbolic works, such as "Death and the Maiden," "The Hermits," or even such seemingly happy themes as "Mother with Two Children," show the same penetrating insight for which his portraits have become famous, giving less a literary likeness than a psychogram of the sitters and subjects. His many self-portraits are proof of his continuous struggle with what he considered the soul of the arts: the depiction of that truth which lies below the surface. While the subject matter seems to be depressing, his works prove otherwise. The extraordinary ability to form the three dimensional body through dominating contour lines, his choice of very strong and forthright colors, the frequently ambiguous spaces, and his extraordinary sensitivity, which transforms even a seemingly quick drawing into a complete work of art, have allowed Schiele's fame to continue to grow. The feverish erotic states which so frequently dominate Schiele's works have by now lost their shock and have been recognized as unique depictions of human life as seen by one of the great artists of the 20th century.

The oeuvre catalogues of Schiele's works (paintings as well as graphics) have been published by Otto Kallir-Nirenstein (1966; 1970). To these can now be added the 1973 volume by Rudolf Leopold. Arthur Roessler published Schiele's letters and prosepoems in 1921, and Christian M. Nebehay in 1979 published a biography together with many newly discovered letters and some of the poems. Special aspects of Schiele's life and works have been treated by contemporaries, such as Heinrich Benesch in My Way with E.S. (1965), and Alexandra Comini wrote a monograph on Schiele's portraits and a number of important articles. Of equal importance are the many exhibition catalogues, which not only attest to the artist's growing fame but frequently contain important critical contributions.
